BERU®️: First to market with glow plug control units

Innovation is the lifeblood of the automotive industry, and BERU®️ is proud to actively push technology forward. For over 100 years, BERU®️ has been a valued partner to the automotive industry and the aftermarket sector, continuously adding innovative developments to its trusted range of diesel cold-start technology.

As the automotive industry has developed, we have introduced new products that match the evolution of diesel cars to become quicker, safer and more environmentally-friendly. Glow Plug Control Units are the latest innovation in our ever-expanding product range, adding even more intelligence to the modern diesel engine. The Glow Plug Control Unit plays a vital role in optimizing the function of the BERU®️ Glow Plug. We now cover 95% of the glow plug market for diesel cars in Europe, as well as 90% of the glow plug control module market in Europe, delivering flawless starting even on the coldest market.

BERU®️Glow Plug Control Units

BERU®️uses its innovative Glow Plug Control Unit with Micro-controller to ensure optimal starting in high-performance BMWs. This advanced component communicates with the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to translate vital information (e.g. glow request, engine speed, coolant temperature and the amount of injected fuel) into a desired glow plug voltage. The unit then adjusts the current on-board voltage to this value, optimising the operation of the diesel engine.

BERU®️’s range of cold-start ignition technologies includes components, such as the BERU®️ Glow Plug Control Unit, which have been developed specifically to meet the needs of high-performance, premium cars, including the BMW where it was the first to market.

Benefits of BERU®️’s glow plug control units:

  • Flawless starting operation even on cold mornings
  • Combined with ISS technology, BERU®️ Glow Plug Control Units offer consistent performance results
  • Long lifespan thanks to quality materials
  • BERU®️expertise and innovative production process applied 360°
